A Message from the Sea Annotated edition by Charles Dickens Gilbert Keith Chesterton Literature Fiction eBooks
This 1860 story is skippable for all but Dickens completists. It's a by-the-numbers "stranger with a message" story. However, the story suffers because two chapters - which were not written by Dickens, but by another author - have been omitted from this version. This gives the tale a herky-jerky feel - one minute the characters are trying to figure out a mystery and the next minute they've figured it out. Even if one decides to ignore this issue, there just isn't too much to enjoy here.Product details

A Message from the Sea Annotated edition by Charles Dickens Gilbert Keith Chesterton Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
It's by Dickens, what more do you want?
Great Item A+++++
Good
Love the captain!
Anything Charles Dickens writes is well done--I enjoyed the story, but it was a little too coincidental to be believable this time.
Confusing plot, if there was one. I didn't like it as much Dickens other books.
The language and characters are quite dated in this book but it doesn't detract from the book at all. In my paintings of the sea and sailors at anthonydunphyfineart.com you can see them all in their element.
